In the early 2000s, the founder of BactiDefense and his colleague from Stanford made a breakthrough in antimicrobial technology. They created one molecular chain that bonded to surfaces and killed the cells of harmful microbes. Augustin Rosas Maxemin then used this patented molecule in another patented formulation. The result was BactiDefense90, a surface treatment that played a major part in the fight against MRSA in 2011 and 2012. It treated major sports stadiums (Yankees, Heat, Patriots, Browns, Hawks, and more) and institutions such as museums, schools, and U.S. military bases.
